About Chris Jackson

Chris Jackson is a consultant and entrepreneur. He has in-depth experience of developing strategy and technology for online and offline media. Chris currently splits his time between consulting work and building a startup focused on social navigation of video content. He comments on the development of online media at simsocast.com

Chris worked at McKinsey and Company from 2001 to 2006, leading strategy development teams in media and technology. During this time he worked with multiple broadcasters, publishers, TV platforms, independent producers, private equity investors and regulators. His practice was focused on the UK, but he also advised organisations based in the US, continental Europe and the Middle East.

Outside McKinsey Chris worked as a developer and as project manager on a wide range of websites, including an online recruiter, an investment information site, a think tank, an ISP portal, and a mobile retailer. Between 1996 and 1998 he worked part-time at BBC Research , building web, DAB and DTT systems. In the distant past he produced sports and music radio for BBC and independent local radio, and briefly designed novel phone directories at BT labs.

Chris holds an MEng degree in Computer Science and Electronics from Imperial College London.
